Support — BCG at Edinburgh Fringe
Last updated: 18 July 2026
Help for the BCG at Edinburgh Fringe app, the British Comedy Guide's companion to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Most questions are answered below; for anything else, we're an email away.
Get in touch. Email hello@fantata.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can — usually within a day, though during the festival itself we may be watching a show. Please mention your device and what you were doing when the problem happened.
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and nothing to set up. Open the app and start browsing.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — that's rather the point. Show, venue and review listings are stored on your device, so the app keeps working in busy venues and on the Royal Mile in August, where signal goes to die. Content refreshes automatically in the background whenever you're back on a connection.
My listings look out of date
Open the app while connected to wi-fi or mobile data and it will update itself. The Fringe programme changes constantly during the festival, so cancellations and new reviews arrive with each refresh.
Where do the reviews come from?
All reviews are written by the British Comedy Guide's critics and published on comedy.co.uk. The app shows them alongside the shows they cover, refreshed throughout August.
Can I buy tickets in the app?
The app doesn't sell tickets. Every show links to the official Edinburgh Festival Fringe ticketing site (edfringe.com) when you're ready to book.
My saved shows disappeared
Saved shows live only on your device (nothing is stored on our servers), so deleting the app also deletes your saved list. Reinstalling starts you fresh.
Something looks broken
Force-quit the app and reopen it — that resolves most glitches. If it doesn't, email us at hello@fantata.com with your device model and what you tapped, and we'll dig in.
Privacy
The app is deliberately private: no accounts, no personal data, and your saved shows never leave your device. The full details are in the privacy policy.
